It is hard to believe that it is already financial reporting season - where is the year going?! Here are some of our top tips that may help save you time.

Identify who your firm's spokespeople will be and block out time in their diaries for a briefing session and for media interviews on release day.

Put together an announcement timeline. This timeline should include key events that will occur on or around release day, e.g: distribution of internal communications, sending a statement to the legal press, followed by other key contacts, distribution of your general press release, timing of legal media interviews with a briefing beforehand, sending a statement to regional media and putting it up on your social media channels and submission of legal media surveys.

Work with senior management to agree your firm's key messages regarding the

financials.

Create a media briefing note for your firm management including your key messages and Q&As covering areas the media might ask about.

Write a press release and an internal communications missive, bearing in mind your key messages.
